Munich Contempo | International Contemporary Art Fair

The second edition of Munich Contempo – International Contemporary Art Fair founded in 2010 will open its gates on 19.10.2011 − featuring both an enlarged number of galleries and an expanded exhibition-area (running until 23.10.). This edition’s location is the columned hall situated behind the central court yard of the Postareal which is flanking Arnulfstraße. About 5000 square metres of hall space are being provided for 50 to 70 exhibitors from the field of established and emerging art and their shows − the hall due to several rows of giant fungiform pillars being impressive in itself. This columned hall, hitherto never in use of any art event, is immediately located behind the Rotunda of Postpalast to which it is directly connected via the middle courtyard. At present the hall is being refurbished for the second edition of Munich Contempo and upgraded with all the necessary high tech equipment.

"Promising Land" as the novel section of Munich Contempo was baptized will feature invited young galleries on the columned hall's upper floor. By this the advisory board of Munich Contempo wishes to offer promising galleries an affordable chance to present themselves to an international public. Welcome in this section are especially solo or curated shows subjected to one head motto.
